Road, Air & Maritime Transport

Due to the country´s geographical location passenger and cargo transport has been vital for the Icelandic economy for centuries, both domestically as well as at the international level. The basic premise underlying transport is simple enough; that the consignor can trust that each shipment arrives in timely fashion and in pristine condition at its destination. The modalities, however, diversify: The modes of transport go from road, to sea to the air or a combination of all three and the consignment can be in the form of passenger, personal belongings, merchandise and raw materials.
Our experts have a wide-ranging experience from all sides of the transportation sector and have acted on assignments in all sizes, going from leasing and registration of aircraft and vessels to advice on all kinds of cargo contracts in order to ensure the appropriate risk allocation with respect to the consignment whether carried by road, sea or in the air. Our experts are also experienced in litigation cargo claims involving the rules of maritime and transport law on damage to cargo as well as salvage claims.
